Many ministries rely on the benevolent giving of supporters to carry out their mission. We are no different. We cannot exist without you. This dependence is by design: with your gifts to Greenville Seminary you help to underwrite 70% of our students' tuition. In a day of rising educational costs, this Seminary remains committed to affordable, accessible theological education. These students are burdened to preach the Gospel; we do not want them to graduate with a burden of financial debt.

We're often asked how a person can best give to Greenville Seminary. The three most common methods of giving are as follows:

  • Giving Appreciated Securities – since the stock market has improved, this may be your best charitable giving vehicle. If you have held the security for more than one year, you get the full deduction of the face value of the stock and do not have to pay any capital-gains taxes.
  • Legacy Gifts – with proper planning, these long-range gifts can help families to avoid estate and gift taxes associated with the generational transfer of wealth. While providing for your family, you can also create a legacy of charitable giving. Consider including the Seminary in your will, living trust, retirement plan proceeds, life insurance beneficiary designation, or annuities that retain income for your family and provide tax savings at the same time.
  • Regular cash gifts – by far the most popular method of giving, cash and checks are the backbone of our benevolence income. For our donors’ convenience, the Seminary has begun automatic bank transfers or electronic funds transfers through debit or credit cards that can happen on a monthly or recurring basis.

The building of the kingdom of God is a shared task among all of His people. We appreciate the gifts of our supporters. If you or your church wish to make a donation, or would like more information about the Seminary, please contact us at development@gpts.edu. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

Yours in Christ ,
